Thank you for your support of Forbush High School. Your volunteer service is greatly appreciated. As of September, 2011 there are some new requirements for volunteers set by the Yadkin County Schools Board of Education. All volunteers now must apply at the school level and be screened by the Principal. Furthermore, volunteers who have direct supervision of students must agree to a background check by Yadkin County Schools.
Here are the 3 levels of volunteers and the requirements of each:
Level 1 Volunteer
Person does not have direct contact with students.
Requirements: Complete the FHS Volunteer Application
Level 2 Volunteer
Person has direct contact with students while still in the presence of a school official or teacher. This person works as a volunteer coach or booster club officer / member or a proctor for testing.
Requirements: Complete the FHS Volunteer Application. Principal will screen using the National Sex Offenders Registry.
Level 3 Volunteer
Person has direct contact AND supervision responsibilities with students. This person chaperons field trips, drives activity buses, tutors students, etc.
Requirements: Complete the FHS Volunteer Application AND Complete the YCS Background Form. Principal will screen using the National Sex Offenders Registry.
We ask that volunteers complete all necessary forms at least 2 weeks prior to any event and submit to the Principal. Again, thank you for your service to Forbush High School. These new volunteer forms and guidelines are meant to keep all students and adults safe at FHS! Feel free to call the Principal with any questions about volunteer requirements.
