Our school district has adopted The “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP). Students, staff, and local first responders will learn and practice this simple protocol. The Standard Response Protocol utilizes clear common language while allowing flexibility. The goal of this protocol is to provide clear instructions for school personnel, law enforcement, students, and visitors during a crisis. The protocol is based on the following actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. These can be used in response to any threat to student safety, such as fires, weather events, or even intruders. The new protocol will ensure that students, teachers, and first responders use the same terms for any incident.
